My specialist subject is website design, builds, hosting and management services for small business. I understand that as a small business, you don’t have wads of cash to spend on arty farty websites and every business is different. I have a very simple set up. You’re not tied into an expensive contract and once the site is paid for, it’s all yours. I work to an hourly rate, and am there as and when you need me. I encourage business owners to look after their own website if that’s what they want, as this can significantly reduce costs, but I can also give full support if needed. It all depends on you and your requirements.

I’ve worked in the IT sector and web design and development for more than 18 years, some of it as an employee and some of it for myself. I fell into IT simply because as an administrator in a brand new department, I was setting up systems and processes that the IT department at the time couldn’t support. I was invited to a meeting with the IT manager, thinking I was in big trouble for something. He offered me a job, lots of training and support and I never looked back.
I quickly moved into web design and development, working initially on the e107 content management system which, at the time, did a lot more than WordPress in terms of functionality.
As WordPress grew in popularity and functionality, I started to look into it and used it for a couple of early website designs. That was just over 14 years ago, and I now concentrate fully on WordPress installations and development.
I don’t advertise my services, the work tends to find me through referrals and word of mouth. I tend to focus on small businesses, and also can advise on promotion and social media of your business in your local area.

Shelley at Total Site Solutions was excellent in setting up and developing our new website. There were some tricky algorithms to create but that was no problem and the whole site came together and has met the brief as planned, even adding a few extra ideas along the way.
